Tennis betting: two players, many ways to be wrong
Tennis is an individual sport played almost all year round, from the four Grand Slam tournaments to smaller events every week. With only two players and no draw, the markets look simple, but the scoring system creates plenty of nuance. Whether your Ninja account offers sports betting is something to check in the account menu; we cannot confirm it from the outside. The general concepts of odds and margins are on the betting hub.
Match winner
The basic market is who wins the match. Heavy favourites are common, especially in early rounds, and their prices often offer little value on their own. That is why many tennis bettors move to handicap and totals markets instead.
Set and game handicaps
A set handicap of −1.5 means the favourite must win without dropping a set. A game handicap counts the games won by each player across the match: a player at −3.5 games must win at least four more games than the opponent. Game handicaps reward a reading of how dominant a player will be, not just who wins.
Totals and match length
Total games over or under a line depends on serve strength, surface and format. Best-of-five matches at the Grand Slams produce far higher totals than best-of-three matches. Tie-breaks count as one game in most settlement rules, which matters close to the line.
The retirement rule
Tennis has one rule every bettor should know: what happens when a player retires injured mid-match. Some bookmakers settle the match-winner bet in favour of the player who advances; others void bets unless a set or the whole match is completed. Rules for handicaps and totals usually differ again. The bookmaker's sports rules state which applies — read them before the first bet, because this rule decides real money every week.
In-play tennis
Momentum swings in tennis are sharp: a single break of serve can move prices dramatically. Live markets suspend between points, and bet slips are often re-priced. Cash out, when available, lets you lock in a position at a value that includes a margin.
Winnings and withdrawal
Tennis winnings join the main balance. If a promotion was involved, make sure its conditions are complete before you file a withdrawal; an unfinished condition is a common reason for a blocked request. A withdrawal usually shows Pending, then Processing, Approved and Sent; the first one tends to wait for identity verification. Paying out to the same method you deposited with avoids one more frequent delay. See the withdrawal guide for every status, and the bet types page for handicap mechanics.
