Responsible gambling: limits first, help when needed
A site about withdrawals has to say this clearly: the best withdrawal is the one you make while you are still ahead of your own plan, and the most important limit is the one you set before you play. Casino games are built with a house edge, so over time the operator wins. Gambling only makes sense as paid entertainment with money you can afford to lose. This page lists the tools that help keep it that way, and where to turn when it stops working. Back to the home page.
18+ and age verification
This site is for adults only (18+), and licensed operators verify age and identity before paying out — usually earlier. Verification is not a formality to dodge; it is also what keeps minors out. If a child uses your device, lock it and never save casino passwords in a shared browser.
Tools inside the account
Most casino accounts offer some combination of the tools below; look for them in the account settings or the responsible gaming section. If you cannot find them, ask support where they are before you deposit.
- Deposit limit — a maximum per day, week or month. Lowering it usually takes effect at once; raising it often has a waiting period, which is the point.
- Loss limit — caps net losses over a period.
- Session limit and reality check — a reminder or a stop after a set time, showing how long you have played and what you have spent.
- Cooling-off / time-out — a short break of a day to several weeks.
- Self-exclusion — closing access for a longer period, either with one operator or, in Estonia, through the national register.
Estonia: the national restriction register
EMTA, the Tax and Customs Board, keeps the list of persons with gambling restrictions (hasartmängupiirang). Only the person themselves can enter it: through the e-MTA self-service (in force no later than the next day), by a letter with a digital signature, at an EMTA service bureau (up to two working days) or at a casino or totalisator, after which EMTA registers it within two working days. The term is 6 to 36 months, and it cannot be changed or cancelled before it ends; after the term, removal requires an application. The restriction applies to all organisers with an Estonian licence, in halls and online, and covers games of chance, totalisator and classic lottery, but not instant lottery. EMTA's yearbook counted 20,149 people in the register at the end of 2025. Instructions are on EMTA's website and on our self-exclusion page.
Getting help
In Estonia, the gambling addiction counselling centre, Hasartmängusõltuvuse Nõustamiskeskus, is reachable on 15410, at 15410.ee and by e-mail at info@15410.ee; it counsels on gambling and digital addiction and handles registration for help. Outside Estonia, your country's regulator or health service lists the national helpline, and Gambling Therapy offers free online support for gambling problems worldwide — chat, forum and groups in many languages. Talking to someone early is easier than repairing the damage later.
Warning signs
- You deposit again to win back what you lost.
- You cancel a pending withdrawal to keep playing.
- You play with money meant for bills, or borrow to play.
- You hide how much or how long you play.
- Gambling no longer feels like fun but like a task.
The second sign deserves a note on a withdrawal site: if you notice yourself reversing payouts, set a lower deposit limit or take a break that day. Our withdrawal guide explains why reversals are a trap.
